About Novigrad
Novigrad is a town and a municipality in Istria County in western Croatia. In Croatian it is also occasionally called Novigrad Istarski to distinguish it from 3 other Croatian cities of the same name. Novigrad is about on a small peninsula at the western coast of Istria, kilometres north of the mouth of the river Mirna and a few 25 km south of the border with Slovenia. At the 2011 census the town proper had a population of 2,622, whilst the whole municipality which also includes four nearby villages had 4,345 population. 66 percentage of populace had been ethnic Croats whilst the biggest minority institution had been Istrian Italians.
