About Mokoshica
Mokosica is a district within the town of Dubrovnik in Croatia. The suburb includes Old and New Mokosica. At the 2001 census, it had a populace of 7,528. It is considered one of the maximum densely populated city districts in Croatia. Mokosica changed into named after Mokosh, the goddess of fertility and protector of ladies in Slavic mythology. Mokosica is the primary most important western suburban metropolis of Dubrovnik. It is located simply above the Adriatic Highway which leads to Split.
From the north and east it's far surrounded via the high mountains of the Dalmatian coast. Towards the north lies the slopes of Golubov Kamen Hill. From the sixteenth century onwards Mokošica become the summer area for the residents of Dubrovnik. The maximum essential constructing is Gozze-Giorgi villa where, in 1814, the council met for the last time to repair the Republic of Ragusa. Nearby, there is Mokosica Villa Zamagna with a small chapel as well as ruins of a medieval church St. Pancras.
