Medimurje County Museum

The Medimurje County Museum in Cakovec, the seat of Medimurje County, Croatia, is placed in the Zrinski Castle inner palace, the largest medieval fortification inside the county, near the centre of the town and its most important rectangular. The museum became installed in 1954 via the authorities of Medimurje County as Cakovec Town Museum and opened to the general public in 1955. At the start it become housed within the exhibition halls within the fortified outer homes of the fortress.

Later it turned into enlarged, renamed and transferred to the three-storey internal palace of the citadel complex, so it has round 5,000 m2 nowadays. Among the museum's reveals are a variety of local artifacts and archeological findings relationship from prehistory to latest history.
