Pejibaye

Pejibaye is a small metropolis within the District of Pejibaye along the Pejibaye River in Jiménez, Costa Rica. Roughly one hour South of Turrialba and two hours East of Cartago, Pejibaye is an emerging ecotourism web page in Costa Rica. The town lies in a valley among the La Marta Wildlife Refuge and the Tapantí National Park.

Pejibaye becomes at the beginning designed as one massive farm that became later subdivided by means of proprietors Don Jesus and Don Ricardo a few of the 70 households that labored the land. Plaza Vieja is the oldest community in Pejibaye formed in the Nineteen Forties just after the Costa Rican Civil War. A small organization of mattress and breakfasts have sprung up to serve neighborhood tourists from neighboring cities who frequently come to Pejibaye for rafting at the Pejibaye River.
