La Tigra

La Tigra is the name of the district number 8 of the canton of San Carlos, which in flip belongs to the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. It is positioned within the northern vicinity of the county and bounds to the north with Florencia, to the south with San Ramon, to the east with Florencia and San Ramon. Its head, the village of La Tigra, is located 27.9 Km to the E of Ciudad Quesada and 108 Km to the NW of San José the capital of the nation.

The production of ornamental vegetation have become, over the years, one of the important efficient activities of this district, in which the weather and the land lend themselves to the cultivation of large type of species of export like dracaenas, Indian cane, orchids, deremensis, among others.
