About Zhaojun Tomb
The Zhaojun Tomb situated by the Da Hi River nine kilometers south of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, is said to be the resting spot of Wang Zhaojun, an everyday person lady from the Chinese Han Empire who wedded a Xiongnu Chanyu, roaming chieftain from the steppes. The tomb is likewise alluded to by its Mongolian name, Temur Urkhu signifying "Press Wall". Another epithet, "Green Mound" alludes to a legend that in harvest time, when grass and trees shrivel, those plants on the graveyard hill keep on prospering.
The tomb, one of the significant attractions in the city of Hohhot, possesses approximately 13,000 m² of land, with a 33-meter hill containing Zhaojun's casket. The tomb is privileged. Wang Zhaojun isn't really covered here. Her actual grave and reason for death is obscure. Still the "tomb" is visited by a large number of Chinese sightseers every year. It is noted for its alluring view. The principal Chinese say of the burial ground in composed record is in the Tang Dynasty, by Du You in A Comprehensive Guide. Previous Chinese head of state Dong Biwu composed the engraving on the passageway plaque to the tomb. It is one of the great place in this city.
