About YANDANG MOUNTAIN
Yandang Mountains or Yandangshan refers, in the wide sense, to a coastal mountain run in southeastern Zhejiang territory in eastern China, covering a significant part of the prefecture-level city of Wenzhou and reaching out to the region level city of Wenling in Taizhou prefecture. The mountain run is isolated in two by the Oujiang River, the two parts being the North Yandang and South Yandang. All the more barely, Yandangshan is also used all the more barely to allude to Mount Yandang, a specific piece of the North Yandang around an old caldera close to a small town of the same name.
The highest peaks of North Yandang are situated here, and this is also the fundamental tourist spot. In this article, name "Yandang Mountains" is used to allude the mountain range and "Mt. Yandang" to allude to the caldera. The primary pinnacle of North Yandang, Baigangjian, rises 1,150 m 3,770 ft above sea level. There is a radar station on the pinnacle, which is closed to people in general. Mt. Yandang is known for its regular habitat, arising from its vertical shake faces and pinnacles, mountain slopes with forests and bamboo groves, streams, waterfalls and caves. The zone also hosts several temples and shrines, a considerable lot of them with a long history; characteristic for the temples is that a significant number of them are worked inside caves or in mouths of caves.
