About Temple of Confucius
The Temple of Confucius in Qufu, Shandong Province, is the biggest and most famous sanctuary of Confucius in East Asia. Since 1994, the Temple of Confucius has been a piece of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Sanctuary and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu". The two different parts of the site are the close-by Kong Family Mansion, where the primary line relatives of Confucius lived, and the Cemetery of Confucius a couple of kilometers toward the north, where Confucius and huge numbers of his relatives have been covered. Those three destinations are by and large referred to in Qufu as San Kong, i.e. "The Three Confucian ".
Inside two years after the demise of Confucius, his previous house in Qufu was at that point sanctified as a sanctuary by the Prince of Lu. In 205 BC, Emperor Gao of the Han Dynasty was the principal ruler to offer penances to the memory of Confucius in Qufu. He set a case for some rulers and high authorities to pursue. Afterward, rulers would visit Qufu after their enthronement or on vital events, for example, a fruitful war. Altogether, 12 unique heads paid 20 individual visits to Qufu to revere Confucius. Around 100 others sent their representatives for 196 authority visits. The first three-room place of Confucius was expelled from the sanctuary complex amid a remaking attempted in 611 AD.
