About Seven Star Crags

The Seven Star Crags are placed across from the middle of Zhaoqing City, Guangdong, People's Republic of China. The crags are all situated in or round Star Lake at once across from Paifang rectangular in downtown Zhaoqing. The region including the crags and Star Lake compromise 8 km². The lake is partitioned into five separate sections divided with small strips of land and walkways. They shape one of the maximum scenic locations inside the province and are one of the essential visitor draws of the city, the other being Dinghu Mountain. The crags are commonly referred to as the little Guilin because of their hanging visual similarity to Guilin's mountains.

The limestone crags are clearly organized within the identical formation as the seven stars of the Big Dipper constellation. Legend has it that the pillars of limestone grew from stars that fell from the skies. There are some of caves in this 8 km² location and a few comprise underground rivers which can be huge sufficient to navigate by using boat. One of the crags may be climbed, having steep stairs going up the aspect; on the top is a small pavilion for viewing the lake and neighboring crags. Boat excursions of the crags and lake can be taken from the region West of Paifang Square. Star Lake has been designated a national park.
