Nanjing Botanical Garden, Memorial Sun Yat-Sen

It is China's first national professional flowerbed built up in 1929.

The first name was "Professional flowerbed Memorial Sun Yat-Sen", which was committed to the memory of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the immense pioneer of Chinese majority rule unrest and establishing father of present day China.

After 1970,the responsibility for cultivate had a place with Jiangsu commonplace government. It has been under the double administration of the legislature and Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1993 and renamed as Nanjing Botanical Garden Mem. Sun Yat-Sen.

It is situated in Zhongshan National Scenic Area at the eastern suburb of Nanjing, with the Purple Mountain behind and the Qian Lake in front, the garden lies adjacent to the old city mass of the Ming Dynasty 1368 – 1644 close-by the popular Zhongshan Tomb.

The territory of the garden is absolutely 186 hectares, with lush vegetation, verdant yards, picturesque slopes and lovely lakes..
