About Mausoleum of Shaohao

The Mausoleum of Shaohao is situated in the north-east of Jiuxian Village, on the eastern edges of the city of Qufu in Shandong Province, China. The tomb complex distinctions Shaohao, the child of the principal legendary Chinese ruler and one of the legendary five heads himself. The catacomb complex is best known for the pyramidal landmark which remains before the tomb itself, and which is frequently confused with the tomb. Called "Shou Qiu", this landmark denotes the origin of the Yellow Emperor as indicated by legend. It is novel in China as a result of its pyramid-molded stone development.

It comprises of a hill that has been secured with stone pieces amid the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Song administration in 1111 CE. The whole pyramid is 28.5 meters wide and 8.73 meters high. On its level best stands a little structure that houses a statue, differently distinguished as the Yellow Emperor or Shaohao. The hill and tomb remains inside a compound with numerous old trees, essentially thujas planted on the requests of the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing administration, who visited the site in 1748.
