Hongjiang

Hongjiang is a county-level city in Hunan Province, China, it's miles under the administration of the prefecture-stage city of Huaihua. Located at the southwest of the province and the south of Huaihua, the town is bordered to the north through Zhongfang County, to the northwest through Zhijiang County, to the south by way of Huitong County, to the east by means of Dongkou County.

Including the Hongjiang District, the Hongjiang covers 2,289 km2, as of 2015, it had a registered population of 498,100. The metropolis is split into 26 township-degree divisions, consisting of 4 subdistricts and 2 townships of Hongjiang District. The authorities seat is Qiancheng Town. The former Hongjiang City became merged with Qianyang County to shape the present Hongjiang City in 1997. However, the local citizens of the former Hongjiang City strongly resisted this merger.

The antagonism and uncertainties had been being performed out for the first time between the residents and local government, and it lasted for a while. The government forced to offer tacit consent to the repute, the former Hongjiang became separated from the new Hongjiang City. As part of Hongjiang City, the previous Hongjiang become reformed as a unique management region named Hongjiang District, the Hongjiang District is immediately administrated by using the authorities of Huaihua City.
