About Guoqing Temple
The Guoqing Temple is a Buddhist sanctuary on Mount Tiantai, in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Initially inherent 598 amid the Sui Dynasty, and revamped amid the rule of the Qing Yongzheng Emperor, the sanctuary is found around 220 kilometers from the city of Hangzhou. It was the underlying site for the making of the Tiantai school of Mahayana Buddhism, established by Zhiyi. The sanctuary covers a region of about 23,000 m2 and highlights 600 rooms in a sum of 14 distinct lobbies, including the Grand Hall of Sakyamuni, the Hall of Five Hundred Arhats and the Hall of Monk Jigong.
The outside of the building highlights Chinese pagodas, for example, the Sui Pagoda, the Seven Buddha Pagoda, and the Memorial Pagoda of Monk Yi XingIn 598, as indicated by Master Zhizhe's last wish, the leader of Sui line constructed Guoqing Temple on Mount Tiantai. The Tiantai group is the primary Chinese Buddhist order to develop from the first Buddhism after it was spread to China. Its originator, Master Zhizhe, lived on Mount Tiantai in Zhejiang for quite a while - subsequently the name Tiantai organization.
