About Dongshan
Dongshan is a district of far southern Fujian Province, People's Republic of China, situated along the Taiwan Strait. It includes 44 islands for an aggregate region of 194 square kilometers 75 sq mi and is under the organization of Zhangzhou City. The aggregate populace was 200,000. Dongshan County has locale more than seven towns, a broadly overseen woodland and a financial and innovative advancement area. It is an essential port for worldwide exchange and exchange with Taiwan.
On one of the islands, there are a few antiquated relics, including the 'Heap of the Nine Immortals', and the Dongshan old city, where two celebrated Ming Dynasty officers, Qi Jiguang and Zheng Chenggong were based. Tongling Town on Northeastern Dongshan Island has an old waterside palace. Tonghshan Castle was worked of stone in 1387 by Zhou Dexing of the Ming Dynasty to ensure against Japanese privateers. The entryway tower still stands flawless. Inside, a way is connected by hallways and the lovely Temple of Guan Yu.
The passageway to the sanctuary is flanked by antiquated houses, the origination of Huang Daozhou, an authority of the Ming Dynasty. In 1950, toward the finish of the Chinese Civil War, the island was the scene of battling between the patriot Kuomintang and Chinese Communist powers, and again in 1953 amid the alleged Dongshan Island Campaign, an unsuccessful endeavor by the patriots to retake the island.
