About Chongshan Temple

Chongshan Temple is a Buddhist sanctuary situated in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China. It is the central command of the Buddhist Association of Shanxi. Chongshan Temple has been assigned as a National Key Buddhist Temple in Han Chinese Area by the State Council of China in 1983. On March 5, 2013, it was recorded among the seventh clump of "Real National Historical and Cultural Sites in Shanxi" by the State Council of China. The sanctuary possesses an aggregate region of 140,000-square-meter (1,500,000 sq ft). Presently the current fundamental structures incorporate Shanmen, Bell tower, Drum tower, Mahavira Hall and Hall of Great Compassion.
