About Lighthouse of la Serena
The Monumental Lighthouse of La Serena is a Chilean beacon situated at the Avenida del Mar of La Serena. The structure is a standout amongst the most illustrative of the city and a standout amongst the most famous vacation destinations in the region. It was worked somewhere in the range of 1950 and 1951 at the demand of President Gabriel Gonzalez Videla amid the improvement of his Plan Serena. The development was composed by Ramiro Perez Arce and coordinated by University of Chile structural designer Jorge Tanks Larenas. In April 1953 it was formally given over to the specialists, driven by chairman Ernesto Aguirre Valin, the common leader Roberto Flores Alez and president González Videla.
In October 24, 1953 the structure was initiated by leader Juan Cortes Alcayaga of the Municipality of La Serena, the lighting framework was expelled a short time later, abandoning it as prominent perspective in later graphs and productions. On November 7, 1985, the then Commander in Chief of the Navy, Admiral Jose Toribio Merino introduced the beacon as a vacation destination for the city to the then leader Eugenio Rodriguez Munizaga. The May 12, 1986, the Chilean Navy formally gave the Lighthouse to the Municipality, assuming responsibility of its maintenance.
