About Yamachiche
Yamachiche is a district in the Mauricie area of the territory of Quebec in Canada. In 1653, the zone was a piece of a fief conceded to Pierre Boucher de Grosbois, Governor of Trois-Rivieres, and in 1672, it was formally surrendered to Grosbois. The Grosbois or Machiche Seignory was 1.5 associations in length by 2 groups profound along the shores of Lac Saint-Pierre. But since of war with the Iroquois First Nation, it couldn't be colonized until the start of the eighteenth century.
In 1703, the main pilgrims, the three Gélinas siblings, settled in the zone and by 1706, there were 7 families. That year, the name Yamachiche previously showed up in the evaluation. In 1711, the main sanctuary was fabricated, devoted to Sainte Anne by Recollet Simeon Dupont, and the Parish of Sainte-Anne was framed in 1722.
