Woodbridge

Woodbridge is an expansive rural network in the City of Vaughan, only north of Toronto in Southern Ontario. Arranged west of Highway 400 and east of Highway 50, north of Steeles Avenue, and for the most part south of Major Mackenzie Drive West. It was at one time an autonomous town before being amalgamated with adjacent networks to shape the city in 1971. Its customary downtown center is the Woodbridge Avenue extend between Islington Avenue and Kipling Avenue north of Highway 407.

The people group had its beginnings with the British Crown allowing the west 50% of parcels six and seven, concession 7 of Vaughan Township to Jacob Philips and Hugh Cameron in 1802. During the early a large portion of the nineteenth century, a school was based on Vaughan's eighth concession; and a flour plant and store thrived at Pine Grove, or, in other words most seasoned regions of the city. A scrambling of houses emerged around Smith's factory directly Hayhoe Mills on Pine Grove.

Smith's plant later ended up known as Smithsville, however was in the long run joined into the town of Woodbridge. A comparable settlement, known as Brownsville, appeared around a factory kept running by John Brown on the Humber River on what is today Wallace Street in the present downtown Woodbridge business segment.
