Willowdale

Willowdale is an area in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, situated in the region of North York. It created from three postal towns: Newtonbrook, Willowdale and Lansing.Willowdale started as a postal town orig. Willow Dale which secured the region from Finch Ave. at the north to Elmwood Ave at the south and Bathurst St. at the west to Bayview Ave. at the east. The postal town of Lansing was from Elmwood Ave. at the north to approx. Hwy. 401 at the south and Bathurst St. at the west to Bayview Ave. at the east. East of Bayview Ave. was the postal town of Oriole.

The north-south centreline of Lansing and Willowdale was Yonge St. The postal town of Lansing stayed in presence until the mail station at Lansing corner northwest corner of Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave. was shut. At the point when another mail station was worked in Willowdale, the postal towns of Lansing and Willowdale were consolidated as the new postal town of Willowdale, inside the Township of North York.

Newtonbrook, initially Newton Brook, was likewise a postal town situated on Yonge Street from Finch Avenue to Steeles Avenue. The limits of the present neighborhood reach out as far east as Bayview Avenue, west to Bathurst Street, south to the 401 interstate, and north to Steeles Avenue. The area adjoins Bayview Village toward the east and is considered to cover Newtonbrook toward the north.
