About Trans Canada Trail
The recently made 1.8-kilometer of trail runs south from Lansdowne Street South to Old Keene Road, filling a hole in the trail amongst Peterborough and Hastings. The City could finish the area of trail after it obtained a decommissioned segment of the CP Rail goad line and was granted $140,000 from the Trans-Canada Trail Ontario Pan-Am Legacy Fund.
Another $79,000 was given through the Trans-Canada Trail Foundation.The trail is available to people on foot, cyclists and skiers. A comparable segment of trail wanted to worked as a team with the Rice Lake Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club will give snowmobilers a similar access into the city.
