The Grande Bazaar

The beautiful and turbulent Grand Bazaar is the core of Istanbul's Old City and has been so for quite a long time. Beginning as a little vaulted bedesten distribution center worked by request of Mehmet the Conqueror in 1461, it developed to cover a tremendous zone as paths between the bedesten, neighboring shops and hans caravanserais were roofed and the market expected the sprawling, confounded shape that it holds today.

Whenever here, make sure to peep through entryways to find concealed hans, veer down limited paths to watch craftsmans at work and meander the primary lanes to separate fortunes from traveler tack. It's mandatory to drink bunches of tea, think about many prices and attempt your hand at the specialty of bartering.
