Surrey
About Surrey
Surrey is a city in the province of British Columbia, Canada, located south of the Fraser River and north of the Canada–United States border. It is a part region of the Metro Vancouver territorial locale and metropolitan region. Essentially a rural city, Surrey is the second-biggest city by populace after the city of Vancouver and the region's third biggest city by region, after Abbotsford and Prince George. The six "town focuses" the City of Surrey includes are: Fleetwood, Whalley/City Center, Guildford, Newton, Cloverdale, and South Surrey. Pilgrims arrived first in Cloverdale and parts of South Surrey, for the most part to cultivate, angle, collect shellfish, or set up little stores.
Once the Pattullo Bridge was raised in 1937, the way was open for Surrey to grow. In the post-war 1950s, North Surrey's neighborhoods loaded with single family homes and Surrey not yet a city turned into a room network, engrossing suburbanites who worked in Burnaby or Vancouver. Starting at 2010, the middle family unit wage of Surrey was $67,702 versus the national middle of $76,437, where 29.4% of families in Surrey earned a family unit add up to wage of $100,000 or more, which is over the national normal of 25.9%.
