About Saint-Boniface Museum
The further east of the Rockies you travel, the wealthier Canada's Metis and Francophone legacy progresses toward becoming. Winnipeg is home to a sizable Metis people group, and no place is it preferable reported over the Saint Boniface Museum. The Museum itself is the site of what used to be Western Canada's first doctor's facility, going back to 1847. It was later a school, went to by Louis Riel, and in 1995 got the Heritage Canada Foundation grant for its commitment to Canadian history. The previous religious shelter has been a halfway house, a school, a seniors' home, and was the principal incarnation of the St, Boniface Hospital.
