About Rutherford House
Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site was the home of the primary Premier of Alberta, Alexander Cameron Rutherford. In 1911, A.C. Rutherford, his better half Mattie and their family moved into this delightful block chateau close to the college grounds. The family engaged companions, relatives and persuasive Edmontonians for in excess of an age.
The University Women's Club assumed a key part in sparing this notable asset and in 1970 the Alberta government reported its choice that the house would be protected. Today, this reestablished and outfitted Edwardian-time home keeps up the Rutherford custom of neighborliness and offers guests a look into the past with costumed translators, guided visits and uncommon occasions.
