morris

Morris is a residential community in the Pembina Valley district of Manitoba, Canada, found 51 km south of Winnipeg and 42 km north of Emerson. Expressway 75 which transforms into Interstate 29 is the significant roadway which keeps running from Winnipeg to Missouri. Morris is the main town in which Highway 75 is called Main Street. The town of Morris is for the most part encompassed by the Rural Municipality of Morris, aside from a generally little eastern outskirt with the northwest corner of the Rural Municipality of Montcalm, over the Red River of the North.

The town has a long history including surges and hide exchange organizations. Hide merchants began to settle in the Morris territory in the late eighteenth century on account of its vital area along the Red River. By 1801, there were two hide exchanging stations at the settlement, the North West Company and the XY Company.
