About Mackenzie
Mackenzie, BC, combined as a zone locale in 1966, people 3507 2011c, 4539 2006c. The District of Mackenzie is masterminded in northern British Columbia near the south end of Williston Lake in the Rocky Mountain Trench. Named after the pioneer Alexander Mackenzie, who remained outside near to the townsite in 1793, the locale was a preplanned "minute town" with the woodlands business being the major money related force see also Resource Towns.
Williston Lake was made by the flooding of the Peace, Finlay, Omenica, and Parsnip stream valleys, caused by damming the Peace River at the W.A.C. Bennett Dam. There are directly 2 crush forms, a paper procedure and ious sawmills with the enveloping zone offering mining openings including the Kemess South gold and copper mine open 1998. Mackenzie is spoken to by a pioneer and 6 councilors.
