Lake Nipissing

Lake Nipissing is a lake in the Canadian territory of Ontario. It has a surface zone of 873.3 km2, a mean rise of 196 m above ocean level, and is situated between the Ottawa River and Georgian Bay. Barring the Great Lakes, Lake Nipissing is the third-biggest lake in Ontario. It is moderately shallow for a substantial lake, with a normal profundity of just 4.5 m. The shallowness of the lake makes for some sandbars along the lake's sporadic shoreline. The lake achieves a greatest profundity of 64 m close to the mouth of the French River, off the shore of Blueberry Island.
