About Hutchison House
A living gallery claimed and worked by the Peterborough Historical Society. Hutchison House was worked in 1836-1837 for Dr. John Hutchison, one of Peterborough's first occupant specialists. Sir Sandford Fleming, a moment cousin, lived with the family 1845-1847.
Guests can visit the house and see the 1840s specialist's investigation with restorative instruments, books and decorations; the Sir Sandford Fleming room with overview hardware; Sir Fleming's unique guide of Peterborough and other memorabilia; Victorian parlor; the keeping room with cooking in the open hearth; time frame gardens planted in the style of the 1860s; and showing herb, vegetable, and bloom cutting greenery enclosures. Costumed aides are on obligation evenings all through the mid year months.
