HMCS Haida

In October 1963, HMCS Haida was decommissioned from the Navy; she was viewed as out of date. The years and the miles had made up for lost time to her – in twenty years she steamed 688,534.25 nautical miles, the likeness twenty-seven times the world over, and sank more adversary tonnage than some other Canadian warship. In 1984 the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada HSMBC suggested that: "...by excellence of the two its part in maritime battle and the way that of its Class only it survives, HMCS Haida is of national memorable and building essentialness." The world's just surviving Tribal class destroyer proceeds to gladly serve Canada as a national notable site moored on the delightfully reestablished Hamilton waterfront.
