About Guelph Civic Museum

The Guelph Civic Museum is a museum of culture and natural history located in Guelph, Ontario. It was set up to investigate the way of life and common history of Guelph through shows and open projects. The Guelph Civic Museum features Guelph's history through changeless and evolving shows, a fun and intuitive families display, and extraordinary occasions and exercises.

Situated in the as of late redesigned Loretto Convent, on the slope at Norfolk Street and next to the historic point Church of Our Lady, the exhibition hall is home to a gathering of more than 30,000 antiquities that breath life into Guelph's past. A large number of the things in the exhibition hall have been given by residents of the city of Guelph. The exhibition hall was shut to general society on June 30, 2011 in anticipation of a progress to another building, and revived at 52 Norfolk Street in January 2012. The building that housed the exhibition hall for more than thirty years at 6 Dublin Street South has a decent lot of history of its own. Planned by William Thomas, it was worked in 1847 in Georgian style. The building is made of limestone and is 11,000 square feet 1,000 m2 in measure and was initially claimed by the Robert Day family.
