About Grenfell
Grenfell is a town in Southern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is situated at the junction of Highway 47 and the Trans-Canada Highway 1 80 miles east of Regina, the provincial capital. It is 15 miles south of the Qu'Appelle Valley where Crooked Lake Provincial Park and Bird's Point Resort are well known shoreline goals in summer and are gotten to by Highway 47. European settlement from Ontario and the British Isles started in 1882 preceding the Canadian Pacific Railway achieved the site of the town.
The mail station was set up in 1883; "the town's name respects Pasco du Pre Grenfell, a railroad organization official. The settlement was the consequence of the westbound extension of the Canadian Pacific Railway and the town is named after Pasco du P. Grenfell, an early investor of the railroad organization and a noticeable railwayman. Beginning settlement was from eastern Canada and the British Isles, pursued presently by Germans.
The town of Grenfell has a leader as the most noteworthy positioning government official. The town additionally chooses representatives or councilors to shape the city board. At present the chairman is Rod Wolfe, and is presenting with councilors Constance MacKenzie, Corey Thiessen, Ken Hamnett, Patty Cole, Tyler Tomlinson and Wes Overand. The Chief Administrative Officer is Victoria McDonald.
