About Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower
The Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower is operated and maintained for your pleasure by the Township of Algonquin Highlands. The first pinnacle was worked in 1922, was 25 meters high 82 feet and utilized as a fire post tower until 1961. The present tower was worked in 1967 and is 30 meters high 100 feet and was raised for visitors to appreciate the view.
Visitors are welcome to move to the perception deck, which is 142 meters 465 feet above Lake of Bays, and appreciate the view from the tree-top post and in addition ground level posts. Facilities include excursion destinations, restrooms, a visitor data stand, a blessing shop and a climbing trail. The Tower is an "utilization at possess chance" fascination.
