About Cardston Alberta Temple
The Cardston Alberta Temple some time ago the Alberta Temple is the 8th developed and 6th of the as yet working sanctuaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints LDS Church. Situated in Cardston, Alberta, it is the most established LDS sanctuary outside the United States. It is one of eight sanctuaries that don't have a heavenly attendant Moroni statue, and one of three without towers, like Solomon's Temple. The other two are the Laie Hawaii and Mesa Arizonatemples. It is one of just two LDS sanctuaries worked in the state of a cross, the other being the Laie sanctuary.
The sanctuary was d on June 27, 1913, and was based on Temple Hill. The stone utilized in building the sanctuary was hand-cut from quarries in Nelson, British Columbia. The sanctuary has four statute rooms, five fixing rooms, and a story territory of 88,562 square feet 8,227.7 m2. In 1992, the sanctuary was announced a National Historic Site, and a plaque was devoted in 1995. The main sanctuary president was Edward J. Wood, who served from 1923 to 1948. The sanctuary was redesigned in the 1990s, and Gordon B. Hinckley rededicated it on June 22, 1991.
