Carburn Park

Carburn Park was once part of Senator Patrick Burns' tremendous prairie realm and at one time was the right-of-route for a railroad line that was to have keep running amongst Calgary and Montana. Carburn Park was made in the 1970's; the name originates from "Carburn Aggregates," the name of the organization from whom a significant part of the land was gained and who built the lakes. The upper piece of the recreation center is arranged on the Porcupine Hills Formation bedrock, which is uncovered along the ledge, yet the greater part of the parkland is on saved stream rock. Some of this rock was mined and the rest of into its present shape.
