About Brantford
Brantford is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, established on the Grand River. It is encompassed by Brant County, yet is politically isolated with its very own civil legislature that is completely autonomous of the district's city government. Brantford is named after Joseph Brant, a vital Mohawk head amid the American Revolutionary War and later, who drove his kin in their first decades in Upper Canada. A significant number of his descendents, and other First Nations natives, live on the adjacent Reserve of Six Nations of the Grand River, 20 kilometers from Brantford; it is the most crowded hold in Canada. Brantford is regularly known as the "Phone City".
The city's renowned inhabitant, Alexander Graham Bell, developed the gadget at his dad's residence, Melville House, now the Bell Homestead. The Iroquoian-speaking Attawandaron, referred to in English as the Neutral Nation, lived in the Grand River valley region before the seventeenth century; their fundamental town and seat of the boss, Kandoucho, was distinguished by nineteenth century students of history as having been situated on the Grand River where present-day Brantford created. This people group, similar to whatever is left of their settlements, was wrecked when the Iroquois announced war in 1650 over the hide exchange and eliminated the Neutral nation.
