Big Rideau Lake is a lake in the districts of Tay Valley and Drummond/North Elmsley, Lanark County and Rideau Lakes, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The lake is on the outskirt between the two areas, 72 kilometers 45 mi toward the southwest of Ottawa. It is 32 kilometers 20 mi long and is 6 kilometers 3.7 mi wide, is much smaller at its northeastern end than at its southwestern end, and is a piece of the Saint Lawrence River seepage bowl. It is the biggest lake on the Rideau Canal. The people group of Portland is situated along the southern shore of the lake.
The shoreline of the Big Rideau Lake is fixed with several bungalows and houses. An open amusement territory and campground, Murphys Point Provincial Park, is situated along a generous stretch of the shoreline on the northern side of the lake. The normal fish found in the Big Rideau Lake incorporate Sunfish, Rock Bass, Northern Pike, Large and Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, Walleye and Lake Trout.
