Third Bridge

The Deputy Darcy Castelo de Mendonca Bridge, colloquially known as the Third Bridge Portuguese: Terceira Ponte, is the second tallest bridge in Brazil, connecting the cities of Vila Velha and Vitoria in the state of Espirito Santo. Spreading over the mouth of Vitoria's sound, which has numerous different highlights, including the Penha Convent, Moreno's slope, cargo ships, coastline, islands and present day structures, the extension has turned out to be one of Espirito Santo's primary points of interest. Development started on the extension in 1978 and was finished and after 11 years on August 23, 1989.

The Third Bridge was so named in reference to two more seasoned scaffolds amongst Vitoria and Vila Velha: Florentino Avidos Bridge, known as 'Five Bridges' 'Cinco Pontes'; and the Prince Bridge Ponte do Principe, known as the 'Second Bridge'. It is presently the fundamental connection amongst Vitoria and the southern shoreline of Espirito Santo.
