About Soure
Soure is a Brazilian municipality placed in the northern country of Para, at the island of Marajo, that's positioned within the Amazon River at its mouth. Its populace as of 2008 is predicted to be 22,244 people. The location of the municipality is 3,512.863 km². The town belongs to the mesoregion Marajo and to the microregion of Arari. The municipality is contained within the 59,985 square kilometres Marajo Archipelago Environmental Protection Area, a sustainable use conservation unit set up in 1989 to protect the environment of the delta region.
It includes the 27,464 hectares Soure Marine Extractive Reserve, a sustainable use conservation place created in 2001 that protects the coastal mangroves to the north of the municipal seat and along the north part of the Paracauari River. The Paracauari River is a river at the island of Marajo in the nation of Para, Brazil. It discharges into the Marajo Bay on the mouth of the Tocantins River.
