Sobradinho

Sobradinho is a municipality positioned inside the kingdom of Bahia, in Brazil. It has a population of about 23,511 with a land location of 1,238.9 km2. Once a part of the municipality of Juazeiro it grew with the development of the Sobradinho Dam and the flooding of the large Sobradinho Reservoir. The Sobradinho Dam is a massive hydroelectric dam built at the Sao Francisco River in Sobradinho, inside the country of Bahia of Brazil. A reservoir is a storage space for fluids. These fluids can be water, hydrocarbons or gasoline.

A reservoir typically approach an enlarged herbal or synthetic lake, garage pond or impoundment created the usage of a dam or lock to shop water. With the introduction of the reservoir, the inhabitants of 4 cities and thirty villages had to leave their homes. In all 11,853 households abandoned the antique cities before the give up of 1977. Of this total, 5,806 households remained in rural masses across the lake and 3,851 households moved to the new cities, along with Sobradinho.
