About San Francisco Zoo Caninde
In 1866, one of the richest people of San Francisco, Robert B. Woodward opened the Woodward Garden in the Mission District in Valencia and completed 15 acres of roads as a four-storey amusement park. In Woodward's Garden, a collection of "animals" included a sea lion pond, grizzly bear grotos, black goose, deer and an aviary. In 1890 the garden was closed when the property was allowed to be divided into many buildings in the city.
As San Francisco grew, so the idea of a zoo came, San Francisco Gill, which we all know today, was established in 1929, and it was built in the 1930s and 1940s as part of a depression-era work Progressisia WPA project. After its founder, the zoo was originally called The Herbert Fleiscacker Zoo. The official name of God - The San Francisco Zoological Garden - went on 27 February 1941 after the suggestion of Herbert Fleiscock.
