About Matinhos
Matinhos is a municipality in Brazil that arose in Twenties. It is considered the "Girlfriend of Parana" because the date of its emancipation grow to be June 12, Lovers' Day in Brazil. The colonization of Matinhos began in the mid-19th century, whilst the carijo Indians used to live within the coastal part of Parana, decided in 1820 via manner of a French explorer named Augustin Saint-Hilaire. The first call became Matinho, after a river in town, and the first colonists have been Portuguese and Italians, who founded an agricultural colony.
In 1927 modified into inaugurated the "sea road", connecting Paranagua and Praia de Leste Pontal do Parana, that added quite a few families, in most instances German, which include the circle of relatives of Augusto Blitzkow, responsible for the urbanization of Caioba.
