About Mata de Santa Genebra
Mata de Santa Genebra is an area of relevant ecological interest in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The zone was initially part of the Fazenda Santa Genebra, an espresso manor possessed by Baron Geraldo de Resende, which secured the present Barao Geraldo de Resende area and a few sections of the city of Campinas. The Baron put vigorously in new innovation for his estate and went bankrupt. His properties were unloaded, and the Oliveira family purchased the part that holds the timberland, which they safeguarded. Jose Pedro de Oliveira, who wound up proprietor, imagined that the outside demeanor of the timberland would help control his tuberculosis.
After his demise his dowager gave the woodland to the region. On the date of the gift, 14 July 1981, the Fundacao Jose Pedro de Oliveira was built up to utilize the woods for entirely logical and social purposes. In 1983 Mata de Santa Genebra was assigned a National Heritage region. Mata de Santa Genebra Area of Relevant Ecological Interest was made by declaration 91.885 on 5 November 1985. Mata de Santa Genebra is delegated IUCN secured territory class IV living space/species administration zone. The goal with this classification is to keep up regular environments of territorial or nearby significance and manage use to help protection of nature.
