Casa do Penedo

Casa Do Penedo, also known as Stone Castle or Stone House, is an architectural monument located between Salirico de Basto and Fete in northern Portugal, in the form of Casa de Penedo in the form of House of the Rock in English has been translated. It received its name because it was made from four big boulders, which work as the foundations of the house, walls and ceilings. Its construction started in 1972 and lasted for almost two years until it was completed in 1974.

The engineer who built the Casa do Penedo was from Guimarez. The residence was initially used by the owners as a holiday destination. Today, Casa de Penedo is a small museum of relics and photographs are taken from the history of the objects. The building is located near a wind farm, although there is no electricity within the house. Due to its unusual design and integration in the surrounding nature, the building has become an increasing tourist attraction.
