About Buique
Buique is a Brazilian municipality in the country of Pernambuco, mesoregion of Agreste. It has an estimated populace of 53,272 in a complete place of 1345,1 km2. The municipality of Buique become settled in 1752, and become originally referred to as Campos de Buique. The call "Buique" comes from Tupi and method "Place of Snakes". Buique have become a village in 1854 and a city in 1874. The writer Graciliano Ramos grew up in Buique. At age 18, Graciliano wrote to this mother: "This is because the devil likes it: one wakes up at five within the morning and spends the day reading, smoking, consuming and praying; one sleeps at nine inside the evening.
The Catimbau Valley or Vale do Catimbau in Portuguese, Brazil's 2nd biggest archeological website, is positioned in Buique. Among its sights are beautiful canyons, over 2,000 caves, and 28 registered regions with prehistoric cave artwork. The Brazilian federal authorities has listed the valley as a Unit of Integral Conservation and Preservation.
