About Afro-Brazilian Museum
It was initiated on 7 January 1982 by the then Director of the Center for Afro-Oriental Studies CEAO, Dr. Yeda Pessoa de Castro, through an understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education and Culture of Brazil, the administration of Bahia, the city of Salvador and the Federal University of Bahia.
It is an organization that intends to shield, consider and scatter everything that identifies with African-Brazilian subjects.
To this end, it includes a gathering of unique or African-roused displays, due either to work and innovation or expressions of the human experience and religions.
In this field, there is likewise a show of Brazilian-made items identified with the African-Brazilian religion in Bahia.
