About Chobe National Park
Started in the year 1960 as a game reserve, Chobe National Park was the first national park in Botswana. It was d a national park in the year 1967. Chobe is Botswana's third largest national park and covers an area of 11,700km2. The park is divided into 4 different regions according to their geography namely The Serondela Area, The Savuti Marsh Area, Linyanti Marsh and Hinterland. If you are visiting the park during dry season, you will be able to see wildlife like warthogs, lions, cheetahs,, kudus, impalas, zebras, and numerous elephants; and if you visit during rainy season, you will be rewarded with sightings of different species of birds. It is most known for its elephant population. There are nearly 50,000 elephants in the park which makes it the highest concentration of elephants anywhere in Africa.
