About Phuentsholing
A small hamlet on the foothills of Himalays at a height of 985 feet, Phuentsholing is a frontier town and a thriving commercial center. It is a must visit town when visiting Bhutan because it features a blend of cultures Indian, Bhutanese and Nepalese. Since it is a border town, it is used as entry and exit point for Bhutan and also a link to visit the states of West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam.
It is a border town of India and Bhutan which is why tourists prefer entering Bhutan via Phuentsholing. Unlike Thimphu or Paro, this is not a major attraction of Bhutan, but it is densely crowded by tourists because of the easy route.
There are many places to explore in Phuentsholing, some of them being the Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang, crocodile farm and Bhutan gate. One can explore the town, which is slightly more urban than other Bhutanese towns.
