About Merbes le Chateau
Merbes-le-Chateau is a French-talking municipality of Belgium positioned within the Walloon Region inside the province of Hainaut. Parts of the church, devoted to St. Martin, date from 1561. A franc cemetery has been found on the territory. Formerly there has been in the town a castle, now extinct, and it's miles from right here that comes the call of Merbes-le-Chateau. The village became formerly known as Merbes-Poteries within the 18th century, because of many potters craftsmen who practiced an critical craft.
