About Havre Castle
Havre Castle is a ruined castle in the village of Havre within the town of Mons, province of Hainaut, Belgium. The origins of the fort can be only traced lower back to the year 1226, even the counts of Flanders and Hainaut have had manipulate over Havre since the eleventh century. In 1255 Ida of Mons turned into married to Engelbert d'Enghien. Their descendants maintain Havre Castle to the 12 months 1423. Then Gerard d'Enghien passes the Castle directly to Christophe d'Harcourt.

By 1537 he was in fee of County of Hainault as grand baliff and governor. Phillipe married on nine August 1548 Anna of Lorraine as his second wife, a daughter of the Duke Anton II of Lorraine. He died before the delivery of his son Charles-Philippe. Wounded by way of a musket Charles-Philippe became handled through Ambroise Pare at Castle Havre, who became the first healthcare professional to French King Charles IX and a distinguished doctor of his time.
