Fernelmont
About Fernelmont
Fernelmont is a French-speakme municipality of Belgium located inside the Walloon Region within the province of Namur. The commune of Fernelmont become born formally on January 3, 1977 from the meeting of ten former communes. It is likely that the Neolithic man occupied the soil of the place: a quantity of lithic stays became determined close to Jonckay-Sienne. These consist of guns of conflict and hunting, gear for working with wooden and stone. From 1794, the usa is invaded by revolutionary troops.
It is annexed in 1795 through the French Republic. Three villages are incorporated within the branch of Sambre-et-Meuse: Cortil-Wodon, Marchovelette and Noville-les-Bois, even as the other seven are in the branch of the Ourthe. In 1814, the area passes from the French Republic to United Kingdom of the Netherlands. The present provinces are constituted. Exchanges of communes among neighboring provinces will affect their limits. Thus, in 1823, Bierwart, Forville, Franc-Waret, Hemptinne, Hingeon, Pontillas and Tillier were detached from the province of Liege and connected to that of Namur.
